In 1964, two naval officers, Joe Quicker and Al Tarantino began formulating the idea of a Navy Sailing Club in San Diego, to serve the military community and foster seamanship and esprit-de-corps within the Sailors and Officers that joined its membership. Navy Yacht Club San Diego continues to serve the military community by offering a gateway to greater enjoyment of San Diego's natural maritime resources.

RSVP and Ticket purchase are required for all attendees and racers.
RSVP no later than 14 July. ​Tickets are $15 which gets you a plate lunch from Leilani's Cafe Hawaiian Food Truck as well your beverages.

2025 Quicker Tarantino Regatta
The Quicker/Tarantino Invitational, first regatta on Navy Yacht Club San Diego's racing calendar, is raced in honor of the two founders of NYCSD - Joe Quicker and Al Tarantino who laid the groundwork for the club in 1964 with the San Diego Naval Sailing Association. Join us afterwards on our patio for traditional burger-burn.
